I read alot -- through books, magazines, and the internet (besides my academic reading -- oy vey!). I also like movies and music. In fact, I like almost all art, but I do not like post modern shit-in-a-can, or stuff that takes 6 months to understand (reference point: I consider Shakespeare to be brilliant the first time around...). On second thought, the shit-in-a-can stuff (and Warhol-type stuff) does demonstrate the degree of idiocy around us...
Politics: I am a libertarian who thinks that government can be useful to coordinate the solution to externality problems. (I oppose monopoly and abuse of power in BOTH the private and public sector.) I also like anarchy, using the proper definition of unguided autonomy -- what Hayek called "spontaneous order" and Smith called the "Invisible Hand" Read this. |
