and Tunisia is not Europe. Kairouan is the 4th holiest Islamic city
(the pillars are from old roman temples...)
there is also the Sahara, which "officially" starts in Douz
"The Gateway to the Sahara"
camels...
and "pain du sable" (cooked in the hot sand from the fire)
they also have old-fashioned olive making equipment
and old fashioned car-lifts.
The next "leg" was a blur, crossing several countries in a short time.
Christmas in Paris,
New Years in Madrid,
a few days in Lisboa
(Jenny at the fort that saw off Portuguese explorers)
and then back to Espana and their lovely women
as well as art
and cities (here Toledo).
Soon - I was off to Morocco
a country of many wonders, but few photos ;-(
.... and back to Europe, carnival
(here with a slightly sober Swede)
and Venezia.
next stop: Eastern Europe!
