(25 January to 15 February 1999)
Whew! It was good to get back to India: the fine cars,
the quiet and dignified children,
the literate population,
the art films
and the easy-to-understand religion.
Actually - we were glad to get back. India is so vital, even on stage.
The food is great
and the people beautiful.
We saw Konark (the Sun Temple)
and wondered around "shit beach" (the toilet for the fishing village
nearby).
It's sad to note that this village was probably wiped out in the Oct-Nov 1999
hurricane that killed at least 10,000 people and left 15 million homeless.
Life is tough in India.
It's pretty bad in Burma (Myanmar) too. Next!
