(9 December 1998 to 24 January 1999)
Still in India, we went to Sanchi, an ancient Buddhist stupa
then down to Goa, where the boys cruised the beaches
to look at the "naked" foreign women.
Meanwhile, I noticed that I had lost some weight.
(about normal for India)
The monkeys acted like politicians.
We had Christmas in Madras (Chennai)
and noticed another, homegrown, celebration
of Tamil film stars??
We next went to Mamalapuram for the dancers
and were fortunate (?) to see something rare -
the wreck of a soletary unmoving vehicle (the street collapsed).
Next was Sri Lanka, with beaches,
tropical leisure,
studs on the train,
old forts,
elephants,
and a civil war (well - can't win 'em all!)
back to India!
