Album 18
(20 October to 8 December 1998)
Well - back in India... First - we visited Sikkim, formerly a Buddhist kingdom.

After the hard work, we went "down" to Bodhgaya
Buddha is worshipped here but the Hindus will come as well.
Any god is a good god to them, even if they aren't supposed to be a god.

(the bodhi tree where Buddha meditated to enlightenment)
We then went to Varanasi - unabashedly the capital of Hindu religion.

Where sleeping next to cow shit is perhaps a good thing

and the yogurt is the best.

We swept thru Khajuraho, famous for its erotic art. Here's a bit:

(hope that this doesn't qualify as porn and get me in trouble as a trafficker!)
If you want to see the stuff with the horses and dogs,
you'll have to come to the albums here or go there ;-)
Next, Agra. Instead of the Taj Mahal, I'll show you some modern Indian
art.

Oh - that's an import. How about this ad??

So - we visited a beautiful tomb in Fatehpur Sikri

then went thru Rajasthan. All of our film was stolen -
so no photos. We had better luck in Gujarat

and ate a lot (best food in India!)

(this is for two - Sandra wanted to but couldn't manage ;-)
We also wondered around Bhuj, taking photos of ourselves,

the girls

and the men.

Last was Diu, an ex-Portuguese colony. There, we found the best lassi

as well as more hard-working women (with straight backs!)

Next album - more India!
(Just 8 to go!)
