Album 12
(24 March to 6 May 1998)
We stopped in the Netherlands for a few days to watch the water rise and fall

and then ran thru Hungary's underground (the oldest in Europe)

(with Erika and Laszlo)
on the way to Poland. We got to Krakow just in time for Easter confession.

(we decided not to since that would have crashed the system)
We visited Auschwitz (Oswiecim), a depressing reminder of how little we change.

"I freed Germany from the stupid and degrading fallacies of
conscience, morality...
We will train young people before whom the whole world
will tremble.
I want young people capable of violence, imperious, relentless,
cruel." - A. Hitler
Unfortunately, there are many politicians (on left and right)
who want to conquer all. What a pain-in-the-ass.
"Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" - Lord
Acton
We made a side trip to see Zamosc and Sandra got some flowers

We then headed north, to Gdansk, where things were more happy

and tongue-in-cheek.

The "do-it-yourself" crucifixion
Next, we headed to Prague, to have a coffee or two (in one cup!)

drink beer (here at the boathaus),

watch the silly tourists (not us!),

look at the lovely art

and cool kids

and play games.

Then it was time for a wedding! (Not ours!)
Just 14 to go...
